Through our current high school program, MWDOC participated in the national 2019 “Be the Voice for the Planet” (Voice4thePlanet) video contest, and we are excited to announce that of the 216 total submissions received for the Water Category, 192 were from Orange County! The MWDOC Public Affairs team secured additional sponsors to award prizes to five Orange County students whose video submissions demonstrated the value of OC water resources and the importance of using water wisely.
Open to high school students across the United States, Voice4thePlanet encourages students to create 30 to 60 second videos that generate awareness and encourage positive behavioral changes surrounding water conservation, clean oceans, plastic pollution, and recycling. Winning students had the chance to earn tons of great prizes from nationwide contest sponsors including National Geographic, Volcom, Sambazon, and more.
As an added incentive, the MWDOC Public Affairs team secured additional sponsors to award prizes to five Orange County students whose video submissions demonstrated the value of Orange County water resources and the importance of using water wisely.
