Karl W. Seckel, P.E.
Karl W. Seckel, P.E. has 45 years of professional water-related expertise working in Orange County, California. In December 2020, he completed a 37-year tenure as an employee of the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC), where he was responsible for planning, engineering, emergency preparedness management, and special studies to improve and enhance water supply reliability. In the November 2020 general election, Karl was successful in being elected to the MWDOC Board of Directors Division 4 (one of seven publicly elected directors).
MWDOC provides imported water resources and other services to 27 water agencies and cities with a combined population of 2.4 million. MWDOC is the third largest of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s member agencies. Prior to joining the MWDOC as a staff member, Karl worked for a civil engineering and water resources consulting firm in Orange County. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with both a B.S. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of California
