Through the Recycled Water On-site Retrofit Program, the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC), in partnership with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan), offers incentives for commercial, industrial, and institutional properties to convert potable or untreated imported water irrigation or industrial systems to recycled water. Recycled water projects can help to ensure a more reliable water future for Orange County.

The Recycled Water On-site Retrofit Program provides an incentive of up to $1,950 per acre-foot of annual water savings, not to exceed actual retrofit costs, from Metropolitan. Projects may also be eligible for up to an additional $325 per acre-foot of annual water savings from MWDOC. Check with your retail water provider for additional funding opportunities. Please note that if eligible for Metropolitan, MWDOC, and/or retail water provider funding, the combined incentives will not surpass eligible retrofit costs.

Eligible projects for both Metropolitan and MWDOC funding must be in the MWDOC service area and meet all program requirements and terms and conditions. Projects must complete all permitting and recycled water must be available from the retail water provider at the project site at the time of application.
